Atlanta

Sunday morning, before Kaitlyn & Skip's wedding, we drove for about ten minutes to visit the Amicalola waterfall which is the highest in this part of America and most spectacular. Here we met up with Linda's High School friend Jane and Jane's husband Gary (see photo), as well as Linda's twin sister Lois and Lois's husband Cliff (who took the photo).
Cashman family before the wedding, together with Dorsey Frazier Morris III (the bridegroom, commonly known as "Skip").

Monday 7th.

We drove into Dahlonega which is one of the original gold mining towns. First we visited the Dahlonega General Store which had the most amazing collection of goods for sale.

Then we visited the first of the two gold mining exhibitions where we were taught how to pan for gold, before being taken on a wagon ride round the grounds.
After lunch we visited the other gold-mining exhibition, and were taken right down underground before returning to have another go at panning for gold. With our earlier practice we were more successful and all managed to come away with a few tiny grains of pure gold.
In the evening, celebrating Daniel's 18th birthday at a Mexican restaurant.
Tuesday 8th April

Today we drove back to Atlanta and visited the Aquarium which is one of the biggest in the world.
